Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

Privacy Policy

Effective October 13, 2026

Aptory (“Aptory,” “we”) runs aptory.io. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the site, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

  • When you contact us: your name, work email, company, and anything you write in the message field.

  • When you book a call: we use a Google Calendar booking page. It collects your name, email, and anything you add to the booking. Google sends the confirmation and calendar invite.

  • When you subscribe to the newsletter: your email address, and your first name if you give it. Our email provider records whether you open our emails and which links you click, so we can tell what’s useful.

  • When you browse the site: with your consent where required, Google Analytics collects pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and an identifier stored in a cookie. Framer’s built-in analytics counts visits without cookies or persistent identifiers.

We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health or financial details. Please don’t send it through the site.

How we use it

  • To reply to you and schedule the calls you request.

  • To send the newsletter you signed up for.

  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.

  • To keep business records and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We don’t use it for targeted advertising, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

Who processes it for us

Provider

What they do for us

Framer

Hosts the site, receives contact form submissions, provides cookieless site analytics

Google (Calendar and Workspace)

Handles call bookings and our business email

Google Analytics

Measures site traffic, with your consent where required

Kit

Sends the newsletter and stores subscriber data

Apple Podcasts, Spotify

Provide embedded episode players on podcast pages

Each provider handles your information under its own privacy policy and, where applicable, a data processing agreement with us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a successor if Aptory is ever sold or merged.

Cookies

The site uses two kinds of cookies and similar browser storage:

  • Essential: a small record of your cookie choice, so we don’t ask again on every page.

  • Analytics: Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and ga followed by an ID). They help us count visitors and see which pages are read.

If you’re in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the banner. Everywhere else, they’re on by default and you can turn them off. Either way, you can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Podcast pages may embed players from Apple Podcasts or Spotify, and those providers may set their own cookies when a player loads. Their privacy policies apply to that data.

Do Not Track

There is no common standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, and we don’t currently respond to them. Use the cookie settings above to control analytics.

How long we keep it

  • Inquiries and booking records: up to two years after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records follow the terms of our agreement.

  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep your email on a suppression list only so we never email you again.

  • Analytics data: 14 months in Google Analytics, then it’s deleted automatically.

Where it’s processed

Aptory is based in the United States, and our providers store data in the US and elsewhere. If you’re outside the US, your information is transferred there. Where the law requires it, our providers rely on recognized safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

If you’re in the EU, UK, or Switzerland

Aptory is the controller of your personal data. We rely on these legal bases:

  • Consent for analytics cookies and the newsletter. You can withdraw it at any time.

  • Legitimate interests for replying to inquiries you send, scheduling calls you ask for, and keeping the site secure.

  • Steps before a contract when we discuss a possible engagement with you.

  • Legal obligation for records we must keep.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to restrict or object to how we use it. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK or the supervisory authority in your EU country. We’d appreciate the chance to fix it first.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link at the bottom of any email.

  • Change your cookie choice through “Cookie settings” in the footer.

  • Email privacy@aptory.io to see, correct, or delete what we hold about you. We’ll reply within 30 days.

Children

The site is for business professionals. It isn’t directed at anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Security

We use reputable providers and limit access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee that information will never be exposed.

Changes to this policy

When we update this policy, we change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll note it on this page and tell newsletter subscribers in the next issue.

Terms of Use

Effective October 13, 2026

These terms cover your use of aptory.io which is run by Aptory (“Aptory,” “we”). By using the site, you agree to them.

Pricing is a guide, not an offer

Prices and engagement details on this site describe how we typically work. They are not an offer you can accept by contacting us. Every engagement is set out in a signed statement of work, and that agreement governs scope, fees, timing, and everything else.

Content is general information

Articles, podcast episodes, and other material on this site share our perspective on go-to-market and product marketing. They are general information, not advice for your company’s specific situation. Decisions you make based on them are yours.

Our content

The writing, frameworks, podcast transcripts, and site design belong to Aptory. You’re welcome to quote short excerpts with credit and a link back. Please don’t republish whole pieces or present our frameworks as your own without asking first.

Some images on the site were created with AI tools or come from free image libraries under their own licenses. Using the site doesn’t give you any rights to those images.

Links to other sites

We link to podcast platforms, sources, and other sites we think are useful. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.

No warranties

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee that it will always be error-free, current, or online.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Aptory is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or its content. This doesn’t limit any liability that can’t be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. This doesn’t remove any consumer protections you have under the laws of the country where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms and will change the effective date when we do.
